discovery: carven
I have become totally besotted with the brand Carven. This collection is gorgeous!! If I wasn't in a professional space I'd be screeching with excitement. And such a romantic story too:
Since its creation in 1945, the French fashion house Carven has promoted a particularly democratic vision of fashion. Madame Carven entered the world of 40's haute couture as a complete novice, bringing with her a freshness and spontaneity of style that resembled the daily lives of women of the time. The first to offer accessible luxury and to capture the spirit of the moment, her simple and refined design were inspired by Parisian chic, where style took precedence over ostentation.
Now under the expert guidance of designer Guillaume Henry, who before heading Carven was senior stylist and first assistant to Riccardo Tisci at Givenchy, has directed and re-vamped the couture brand for new audiences.
The majority of the collection seems to be available from net-a-poter.com
